The three-by-three classic. You play X, the CPU plays O. First to complete a row, column, or diagonal wins. Perfect for a thirty-second reset between longer games.
The CPU blocks forks — you need a double threat to win, not a single line.
How to play Tic-Tac-Toe
- Click an empty square to place X.
- Players alternate until someone has three in a row or the grid fills.
- Three in a row wins. Full grid with no line is a draw.
Strategy tips
- Take a corner if the center is taken — corners participate in more winning lines than edges.
- If you start, center or corner gives the best win chances against a blocking AI.
- Set up two lines at once; the CPU can block one but not two.
- An edge opening as first player is weakest — the AI will force a draw or loss.
- Use tic-tac-toe to teach fork logic before Connect Four or Gomoku.
Common questions
Can I win as X every time?
Against perfect play the game is usually a draw. The CPU is beatable if you create a proper fork.
