Golf solitaire (sometimes called Golf Patience) is a quick clearing game: seven columns of cards, one waste pile, and simple rank adjacency — but unlike TriPeaks, ranks do not wrap from king to ace.
Your score is how few cards remain when the stock runs out. Clearing the whole tableau is a full win.
How to play Golf Solitaire
- Remove any exposed tableau card that is exactly one rank higher or lower than the current waste card.
- No wrapping: ace and king are not connected.
- When no tableau card fits, flip the next card from the stock onto the waste.
- Win by clearing all tableau cards. Fewer leftovers mean a better result when stuck.
Strategy tips
- Before flipping stock, scan all seven columns — one flip wasted is one less chance.
- Prefer a move that uncovers a new column card over a move that only shrinks an already-short column.
- Kings and aces are dead ends at the edges of rank — plan around them when the waste shows a 2 or queen.
- If two columns offer the same rank, choose the one with more cards still buried underneath.
- Compare with TriPeaks when you want ace–king wrapping and a peak layout instead of columns.
Common questions
Is Golf the same as TriPeaks?
Similar adjacency idea, but Golf uses columns, does not wrap ace–king, and scores by cards left in the tableau.
