The classic fifteen puzzle: a four-by-four grid with fifteen numbered tiles and one hole. Click a tile adjacent to the hole to slide it. Restore reading order from 1 through 15.
Shuffle always produces a solvable layout — each shuffle applies legal moves from the solved state.
How to play Slide Fifteen
- Only tiles orthogonally adjacent to the empty cell can move.
- Click a movable tile to slide it into the hole.
- Win when tiles read 1–15 left-to-right, top-to-bottom, with the hole at bottom-right.
Strategy tips
- Solve the top row first, then the second row, leaving the bottom two rows for last.
- Keep the empty cell on the bottom-right when possible while building early rows.
- Move 1, then 2, then 3 on the top row using a standard corner-cycling pattern.
- Do not undo randomly — plan cycles of three tiles around the hole.
- If stuck for minutes, try a different move order — every shuffle here is solvable.
