Nonograms (Picross) give you numbers along each row and column describing runs of filled cells. Mark fills and empties; when correct, a pixel picture appears.
Use the Fill and Mark empty toolbar buttons to set cells solid or blank.
How to play Nonogram Ink
- Numbers show consecutive groups of filled cells in that row or column, in order.
- Multiple numbers mean multiple groups separated by at least one blank.
- Fill cells you know are solid; mark X on cells that must be empty.
- Complete the grid to reveal the picture and win.
Strategy tips
- Start with rows or columns where numbers sum plus required gaps equals the line length — those lines are fully determined.
- Mark X aggressively — blank space is as informative as fills.
- Overlap technique: if a row clue is 8 on a ten-wide line, the middle six cells must be filled.
- Cross-check perpendicular lines; a fill in a row constrains columns crossing it.
- If two clues on a short line force placement, do that line before ambiguous long ones.
Common questions
Do I need to guess?
Well-formed nonograms should be logic-only. If guessing, recheck sums and overlaps.
