Scorpion sits between Spider and Yukon: you build down by rank on seven columns (suit does not matter for placement), but you may pick up any face-up card together with all cards covering it — order inside that scoop need not be valid.
Clear four in-suit king-through-ace runs from the board, or empty every column, to win.
How to play Scorpion Solitaire
- Seven columns build down by rank (suit does not matter on the tableau).
- Move any face-up card and every card stacked above it, even if that group is not a proper run.
- Empty columns accept any card.
- Stock: three cards deal to the first three columns when you click the stock.
- Win by clearing four in-suit king-through-ace runs from the board, or by emptying all tableau columns.
Strategy tips
- Tableau builds down by rank (any suit); cleared runs must be in-suit king-through-ace.
- Use scoops to flip face-down cards at the bottom of a column.
- Empty columns let you break apart a bad stack and rebuild in-suit.
- Before dealing the final three cards, try to have columns where new cards can land on same-suit targets.
- If you like Scorpion’s scoop, try Yukon for alternating-color scoops without suit builds.
Common questions
Is Scorpion the same as Spider?
Scorpion uses seven columns, rank-down builds, and messy scoops. Cleared runs must be in-suit king-to-ace like Spider, but tableau placement ignores suit.
